Four Seasons, one of the world’s leading
Luxury Hotel Developers is presently in Belize
scouting potential locations in the Jewel to
built a opulent resort
Over the last two days,
Mr. Peter Hodgson, the Vice President of
Corporate Planning for the “Rolls Royce” of
Hotels Developers has been traveling around
Belize with the Minister of Tourism, Hon.
Godfrey Smith. During his two-day visit, Mr.
Hodgson traveled the length and breadth of
Belize checking out possible areas for
development. Stops on the tour included
Belmopan, Placencia, Punta Negra, San Pedro, Corozal,
Turneffe, Glovers Atoll, and other offshore
islands.

Over the last thirty years Four Seasons has
developed a strong brand name as being one of
the world leaders in up-scale resorts. Four
Seasons manages seventy hotels and resorts in
thirty-one different countries around the world.
The leader in hotels that cater to the
rich-n-famous has decided to continue its
expansion program internationally. There are
twenty-seven new hotel projects in the
pipe-line; twelve of which are under
construction already. Furthermore, the company
has plans to develop an additional sixty hotels
in new and emerging markets. There goal is to
establish six to eight properties annually for
the long term.
With the ever growing importance of the
tourism industry on the socio-economic
development of Belize, an internationally
respected brand name like Four Seasons would
definitely increase the marketing of the
country, expand the hotel field to a new level
and create many jobs for Belizeans. Since Four
Seasons focuses on developing small to
medium-size luxury hotels and resorts of
exceptional quality, a Four Seasons Belize would
definitely compliment the existent hotel plant
in Belize, which averages about ten rooms.
A Four Seasons in Belize would also mean that
Belizeans would have access to some of the best
in-house training programs in the industry.
Getting our people trained and exposed has been
high on the agenda for the Government and the
Belize Tourism Board. Over the last five years
GOB/BTB has invested millions of dollars to
improve training and guiding Belizeans to
professionalism in the tourism field all over
the country.
The Four Seasons interest in Belize signals
that Belize has reached the major leagues in
tourism. Belize is now up there with the heavy
hitters like Las Vegas, Paris, Milan, and
London. It is being recognized worldwide as an
important tourist destination; and one with
longevity. Belize will be the second country in
Central America to have a Four Seasons Resort.
Costa Rica has a Four Seasons Resort at
Peninsula Papagayo.
